Chere Readers,
Yesterday I happened to take my annual eye exam at Lens Crafters. Although the tests are fairly easy with my glasses, I am blind without them. So when they made me take my glasses off I had to say I couldn’t read any of the letters. But my lucky duck sister has 20-20 vision. The only one in my family without glasses. But she WANTS THEM! So anyway something good came out of this. I got a brand new pair of Ray Ban nerdy glasses. I am borderline adult size. When I told my Dad he said I have a big head. But that only means classier glasses for moi. Enjoy these pictures of my new glasses!
Those sparkly rectangles are the boxes to my mom’s Christmas present!
I was thinking of doing a Matches Fashion post, but after looking at the prices of some of these things I started browsing elsewhere. The last thins I scrolled through was the Charlotte Olympia Collection of purses before I was opening her site for more.
Charlotte Olympia is as creative as Kate Spade. Her handbags are what caught my eye. They are as creative as Kate Spade, but her purses may not be as well known. So I am here to give you Spade fangirls another designer to adore.

These suede peep toe pumps with leather and embroidery are just “to die for!” You can’t see it well here, but you can here. There are two girls each saying something. One screams “I’M CRAZY FOR SHOES, SHOES, SHOES,” the other, “I’m mad about the boy.”
These shoes look Minnie inspired. Who remembers the mouse in the red and white polka dot dress? But in fact these suede shoes are actually forest inspired. While resting on a heart-shaped platform these shoes were actually influenced by mushrooms. Inspiration can come from anywhere.
Courtesy of CharlotteOlympia.com
These heels made for California are definitely creative. The classic HOLLYWOOD sign shoes made of kidskin and suede are perfect for your summer vacation.
This clutch looks like those heart-shaped candies you get on Valentines day. It doesn’t even look like a pure with the hidden clasp. Now you can hold all those Bath and Body Works products. Oh and all the money you’ll need to buy Charlotte Olympian designs.
Courtesy of CharlotteOlympia.com
This comic inspired clutch is worthy of Kate Spade’s attention. She better watch out, Charlotte Olympia might take over. The gold magnetic closure and detailed embroidery makes this nostalgic bag timeless.

This classy iPhone 5 case has Hollywood written all over it. Literally. The glamorous celebrities in the Hollywood star adds sophistication to your phone.
Don’t forget to comment your favorite Olympia design. Who’s better Kate Spade or Charlotte Olympia? Know any other Olympia designs you like, write a post of your own and link it in the comments.
Chere Readers,
You may have heard of Shirley Kurata. You may have seen her work. But you may have not. That is what I am here for. I was browsing through RookieMag.com when I saw an article on her. She has styled many celebrities, but her best work is the editorials and fashion shows she does with Rodarte. And since this blog is to share my rants about fashion, here it goes.
I would describe Shirley Kurata’s style as geekly chic. She has many different colors in her everyday outfits. Along with all the bright colors there is many different textures and layering. Also in my opinion she has a sort of mod style as well.

This really is a modern-day piece. The Converse sneaks and bright tee-shirt really scream teen. But the polka dot shirt underneath and the tight sunder the shorts make this a stylist’s creation. The cat eye glasses give it the Shirley Kurata feel.
Courtesy of ShirleyKurata.com
The outfit on the left surely leaves you with no doubt it was styled by Shirley Kurata. There are bright colors throughout the entire piece. There’s layering, which is a Kurata classic. The vintage skirt with lace flowers is quite divine. And the wide tan belt makes the loose fitting shirt seem not so loose, so the skirt can be that billowy.
Courtesy of ShirleyKurata.com
Really I like the nerdy glasses the most. The big wire frames seem so weird next to the gorgeous hair. And the pale yellow dress against the black shirt looks very nostalgic.
Courtesy of ShirleyKurata.com
I like the outfit on the left. The LBD with the white dress trim at the bottom is small and classic. The horizontal black and white stripes with the peep toe wedges are all mod inspired. It’s easy and fun, even though you might look a little weird walking down the streets in it.
The outfit on the right seems like a modern-day female Sherlock Holmes. The long checkered coat helps my case. And her holding her glasses in that mysterious way does too.
Courtesy of ShirleyKurata.com
The black mini skirt is form-fitting, it contrasts the billowing sleeves above the elbow. The tight sleeves below the elbow compliment the tightness of the skirt. And the stark white on the jacket contrasts the darkness of the rest of this piece.
The long blazer is a fun way to dress sophisticated. The bright pink is an unusual color for classy for a blazer and trousers. But the button down white shirt, and black tie brings this secretary look all together.
Don’t forget to comment your favorite look! Like this post for more Shirley Kurata!
Chere Readers,
Fangirling is a group of friends, the fan girls, who discuss, ogle, and possibly stalk a favorite celebrity, stylist, designer, model, or anyone else famous for hours on end. While my fangirling has not gone so far as to stalk Chloe Sevigny I am adoring Chloe for Opening Ceremony. Chloe’s personal style inspired this collection. The one that made her famous. It’s a group of weird but amazingly stylish clothes all girls could wear and look good. So of course I am here to talk/rant to you readers to share my fangirling of Chloe Sevigny.
The whole collection had an emotional teenage feeling. You know the one where you always wear experimental clothes with you hair hiding your face. I’ve also been thinking Sevigny went for a skater chic kind of thing for some of the pieces.
Courtesy of RookieMag.com
You see what I mean with the whole skater chic thing? Those bold dark glasses catch your eye and give you a mysterious feeling. The ruffles, and contrasting texture at the top of the shirt add a girliness to the daring black piece.
Courtesy of RookieMag.com
There is no doubt this was skater inspired. These are classic skater sneaks. The yellow V and vision on the Velcro straps are what bring your eyes to these shoes. They contrast the dark, slightly boring, black and grey areas of the shoes. Where can I get some skater shoes.
Courtesy of RookieMag.com
Out of the two of these pieces I like the black one on the right. The one on the right is too girly for my taste. The black on the skirt is really cool and reminds me of flapper dress times. But they both have that embroidered design on the shirt. It’s visually appealing to me. Don’t forget to comment your favorite.
Courtesy of RookieMag.com
I love how the designer or stylist of this fashion show played with and showed off the tight leather skirt, and the loose-fitting tee. It’s nice to contrast the fit of pieces. All loose pieces looks baggy like you didn’t care. But all tight things just looks like you tried WAY too much. So you have to incorporate both. And playing off the black in the shirt with the black skirt was just divine.
Courtesy of RookieMag.com
The cut off shoulders on this piece while still leaving the collar is a bold move. I’m not going to lie, it looks tres chic. The bright red collar looks fun and inviting. Perfect for the summer months.
Courtesy of RookieMag.com
See the whole balance of how tight or loose something is has come back. You’ll never get away from it. The tight crop top plays off the baggy trousers. Having bold words on the white shirt compliments the solid pants. And the faded trousers bring some color to the whole thing.
Courtesy of RookieMag.com
This is a summer piece. The short skirt and short ruffled sleeves give that away. There is a lace look alike fabric through out the whole piece. You can see the delicate carefully detailed flower cutouts bottom portion of the skirt. The tight graphic tee with the cardigan/sweater thing without sleeves looks vintage inspired. When they wore those fluffy shawl like things on their arms with the mini dresses. Also, I love the fact it’s sleeveless, when the tee shirt has straps.
Courtesy of RookieMag.com
Handcuffs on a satchel. Not something you see everyday. But they give some shine to the glossy black bag. And they make it not so much of a cliché bag. I mean, who would want such boring bags?
I have created a Polyvore set to possibly inspire you for a New Years Eve party. I suggest you wear your most sparkly dress, in this mine is gold with black leggings or stocking and a pair of your most dressy ankle boots. Then to accessorize just wear a simple black clutch and you’re ready to go. Or you could go for a more fun, less classy mannequinny look by pairing a nice loos fitting top with a patterned solid mini skirt. To accessorize invest in a fun shaped shoulder or cross body bag, and some colorful platform heels. For both of these looks you can really have fun with the makeup. I’m not really a beauty expert, in fact I don’t wear makeup at all. But you could wear some shimmery glittery nail polish and some sheer lips. Or for those experimental people, bright lips would be fine depending on the color. I recommend mascara, and if you must fake eyelashes. Have fun. Link me back to your New Years Eve outfit in the comments.

If you read my post from yesterday about what I got for Christmas you’d know I got a hot pink Kate Spade cross body with vertically striped lining. This has sparked my obsession in Kate Spade. I already knew her designs, and her work. I saw a case for my old nook by her and instantly wanted it. But that was definitely out of the price range anyone was willing to pay for a purse. So I am here to share my newfound love of Kate Spade with you all today.
Courtesy of KateSpade.com
This purse is a nautical one perfect for those summer cruises we all dream if going on. I adore the small circular purse for its mini size and bright red color And the gold chain is shiny… What’s not to love?
Courtesy of KateSpade.com
This pretty polka dots bag could be both a shoulder bag and a satchel thanks to the set of two straps. One to go on your shoulder, and the two straps for you to hold in your hand. Recently the interior lining of Kate Spade purses has been bright and fun colors or patterns.
Courtesy of KateSpade.com
This pale pink bag has a gorgeous embossing? I really adore the geometrical lines you barely see on the exterior surface of the bag. And the inside is just perfect for keeping your bag organized with all those pockets.
The most creative bags I’ve seen by Kate Spade are her collection of clutches. So voila!
Courtesy of KateSpade.com
This reminds me of a comic and a party at the same time. Like opening a glass bottle of soda. The pop is an “alias” for the term soda, fizz is the bubbles in the soda, the clink is the glass bottle being touched against another one in a series of cheers. So anyway, this bag was meant for a night of partying. And if you’re just walking downtown its easy to turn this clutch into a shoulder bag.
Courtesy of KateSpade.com
When you first saw this you must have been wondering why there’s a book in a Kate Spade post. Well looking closely at the next picture could stop that wondering. This “Tale of Two Cities,” clutch is very creative. This actually looks like a real book. But turning it to the side would reveal the clasp. Opening it would reveal a small zipper pocket across the middle, making two larger pockets on the other side. Magnificent! Just magnificent!
Her “tech accessories” are also really fun and creative as well.
Courtesy of KateSpade.com
This bright red phone case is toned down by the white strips of paper on top. These are not random scraps, no they are fortunes. This phone case is covered by fun fortunes you might see in a fortune cookie. Have fun knowing “You put the mystique in chic.”
Courtesy of KateSpade.com
This bubbly pink phone case is actually meant to be literally bubbly. Those little tags you see are supposed to be labels to champagne. But what I really like is there supposed to be vintage labels. And you know I’ve been obsessed with vintage things from reading this. So of course this phone case caught my eye. Oh, and it’s pink too so….
Courtesy of KateSpade.com
This case matches the purse I showed earlier. And that’s not unusual, a lot of the cases match her best purses. There’s not much to say as already ranted about this earlier. But my suspicions were confirmed. This purse was inspired by soda. Don’t you see all those fizzy bubbles?

P.S. I am doing a menswear series by request of a college student at Cornell who is friends with my cousin. Every year he does a fashion show. He said my blog was good and recommended me doing a menswear post. Also every week I plan to cover a designer or stylist I’ve been adoring. (Meaning they have designs that are fun and original and creative). Give me suggestions for both posts in the comments below!!
Chere Readers,
You may have heard of Jason Bolden. You may have seen his work. But you may have not. That is what I am here for. While I am not allowed to have an Instagram until next year I have seen others’. In fact just yesterday I saw my hairstylists Instagram feed. What I was most fascinated by was the photos from Jason Bolden. And since this blog is to share my rants about fashion, here it goes.
When Jason Bolden was a kid he was bored. None of the other kids had his passion for creativity. So he spent his time imagining he was in a dream location. This is what gave him the creativity he uses today to style people like La La Anthony, Gabrielle Union, and famous brands like Gucci.

This pencil skirt just excites me. It’s so shimmery. I especially like that little bit at the top with the flowers. And the standout faux fur paired with the classy shirt. Oh… If style could kill I’d be dead.
Courtesy of http://instagram.com/p/iEUbpOBnSr/
This yellow dress is for a wedding. And in case you were wondering it is for the bride. Jason Bolden himself said to “be a rock star, and make your own rules.” I agree, white gets boring. Sure it’s classics, but classic is so over!
Courtesy of http://instagram.com/p/h7C7wghnRG/
This is a geekly chic look. The higher than knee high socks are all the rage right now. A classic geekly chic look is the sweater, the sneakers, and the beanie. I’m really adoring her backpack though. It seems so college travel.

This outfit reminds me of Lauren Conrad. She is constantly wearing her hari in buns, whether messy or ballerina like on a casual day. I have her book “Style” and she always wears oversized sweaters. Is this Lauren Conrad? Well anyway, I think my friend has thst purse. I love her boot, they’re so high. I just wish you could see the face. Oh well, that’s just how life is…
I have been searching Pinterest for amazingly chic clothing. I have been especially fascinated with the vintage set of things. They are so much posher than the clothes we wear today. I wish I could wear things like these without looking like an absolute weirdo. I will rant about a few, but just put pictures of some to inspire you.

This dress is just divine with all the lovely floral prints. They are delicate and classy while still being fun. I especially love the broad blue band across the top of the dress. And creamy background is very delicate and clean in a nostalgic sort of way.
Courtesy of Macys.com
These darling peep toe heels are absolutely dated prim. The ribbon bow adds a contrasting texture to the delicate lace around the rest of the shoe. I love how the heel is high but not too high. It’s the perfect height for all the mini dresses from their time.
Courtesy of Pretty
This website accurately displays what I think of this dress. I love the beaded collar. It’s a really fun way to accessorize and add visual appeal to the dress. I also love the sheer top over the sweetheart neckline you can just barely see. The peachy collar makes the black bow stand out in a good way. And you can’t forget the gorgeous pearl buttons down the front. ‘
Courtesy of Stylepage.com
I am in love with her delicate black pumps. But what I really like is her coat, the way it puffs out at the cinched waist is just divine. And her hat is absolutely gorgeous. She seems like she would be visiting the modern times from the countryside and trying to find her way around. I can imagine people gawking at her, but she doesn’’t care because she’s amazingly sophisticated and confident.
Now it’s gawking time:

Well, do any of you have an adoration for vintage now. Maybe you’ve been inspired. Or you have a vintage soul now too. Tell us in the comments. Oh, and I’ll be having a giveaway soon for the 50 followers mark.
In my school there is an unexplainable obsession with Vera Bradley. As soon as you walk in the door you are overwhelmed by the sea of quilt-like bags. When I was younger and we went to Hallmark I thought Vera Bradley was one of those celebrities with products like perfume, and pens, and things. But when I asked my Mom, she said it was a famous fashion designer.
I think the more colors on a Vera Bradley product the more it looks like a quilt. Or the brighter the colors are. So, if I did get a Vera Bradley anything, I ‘d want a darker one. For example, this bright bag looks like a quilt right?
All these floral designs make the bag look quiltish. With all the color and flowers and paisley prints this bag just isn’t for me. Even my Mom thinks the bags look like quilts. That’s why she won’t buy one. And possibly why she won’t buy me one.
With classy prints and dark colors this bag doesn’t look like a quilt. I especially like the black and hot pink color combination on Vera Bradley bags. I do like how there is all of those neutral colors with the bright pinks too. It’s a nice design touch. Also, this size is just perfect for someone going to school.
Compare these three bags. Which one is the best, the bright one with floral print, the plain black one or the dark one with one eye popping color? Tell me in the comments. Obviously, well at least, to me the one in the very front is the best. It’s the same design as the before mentioned cross body. Then the black, then the quilt like bag.
At my school you have a student ID. You use it to get library books, lunch passes, and on some buses you can’t get on without it. It’s so you don’t get on a bus with a friend without a note, or if you’re not a student. So it’s not good to lose it. This is why I want one of these ID card holders. It’s really pretty and dark, with the same print as the bags mentioned earlier. I also want the cross body too. But the ID holder is really pretty and dark and small and cute. Well that’s a run on sentence.
These bags aren’t necessarily dark. But they’re purple and blue. My two favorite colors. I like the flowers and shapes. They’re kind of like doodles. And I love to doodle.
This cross body bag is really pretty. It’s the same design as the pink, grey, black, and white bags from earlier. But instead of being hot pink its dark blue. And since blue is one of my favorite colors, it’s obvious I like this bag.
All photos come from the official Vera Bradley website. I take no credit for any of these images.
Tres Chere Readers,
I am here to introduce to you Lynn Dell, the cool old lady who is still stylish. And doesn’t care what anybody thinks. She owns off Broadway Boutique, which is for people over 40. Okay, this isn’t for this audience, but she’s still tres cool.
Vintage is finally considered admirable. In fact, it’s a very popular type of style among many girls. Very marvelous. That is what Lynn Dell focuses on. She is bringing back old things from 30 years ago, that were probably stuffed in her closet, and re-wearing them in a new way. Like the scarf she wrapped around her head and pinned to her hair. Everyone thought it was a hat, but really it was quintessential caterpillar scarf. Or the nostalgic parasol. While not protective of rain, very jazzy.
Courtesy of http://cdn.timesofisrael.com/uploads/2013/09/Lynn-Dell-195×293.jpg
You might be wondering how she gets all these jaunty ideas. Well, she’s one of those refreshing old ladies who travels the world. She is always looking for new designs, and cultures to incorporate in her boutique. She’s been all over the world, doing all sorts of things. She’s had a tv show, been on a radio show, and even gave speeches about the magnificence of cruise ships. On top of all that Dell produced and directed some of the top fashion shows in New York. Pretty inspiring for a “grown up lady,” such as herself.
I adore these polka dots. And that huge broach on her ring is very vintage chic. Also, I’m in heaven with that tissue paper flower headband on her head. I also love how many thick chunky bracelets she put on her arm, and how they all match. And who doesn’t love all these ruffles. They’re all over the place.
Courtesy of https://www.pinterest.com/pin/146367056609057893/
I love this scarf. It is so twisty and turny and fun. It looks like folded paper, or a slinky from when you were little. See this is how you have fun with fashion?
Courtesy of http://www.boutiqueoffbroadway.com/staticpage.php?id=6&lynn_dell
OMG! Her earrings! They look like styled candle wax to me. So cool and fun. Her hat is as magnificent and fabulous as all her other head accessories so far. This reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. Remember the Mad Hatter? She’s like his mom. Or he was her apprentice. I like her signature flower on the right, and the childlike contrast between the neon yellow/green and black.
