My Personal Shopper Skills (Naf Naf)

Chere Readers,

I’m all for collaborative and guest posts.  So of course, I’d love to do my first collaborative post as a little present for you guys on behalf of my blog’s belated half birthday.  Cue Morgan Etoile, a loyal follower, and commenter on my blog.

We have decided to try out our personal shopper skills for this little feature.  I will be styling an outfit for Morgan Etoile, using the French boutique Naf Naf.  You can see Morgan Etoile’s outfit for me here.  Be sure to take to a look at it, then finish reading this post.

I present to you my outfit for Morgan Etoile. Drum roll please…

I went for a very dainty, girly type look here.  I picked a lace dress, which is in a gorgeous creamy white color, because I know Morgan Etoile liked the lace of one dress on her blog.  Every shoe she seems to pick is heeled ankle boot.  And personally, with the black shoes there needed to be some sort of black on the dress for me.  So I’d pair the black bow belt, where that strip of white is on the dress.  Lastly, the pop of color a small pink bag!

How are my personal shopper skills?  If you’d like to do a collaborative post with me or a guest post, leave something about it in the comments.

The Marilyn Monroe Guide to Fashion (Part 1)

Chere Readers,

I already told those of you who read my post yesterday, the title of this post.  But not what I was going to be doing.  Basically I take a picture of Marilyn Monroe, and her clothes, and write a tip based on what she’s wearing.  In first person point of view of course.  This series will continue as long as I can think of tips.  Because my series posts were very popular.  But out of the three I’ve done(including this one) I’ve only finished 1!  Whoops!

Tip: (imagine in a classy accent)

A lady shall always add a bright pop of color to an otherwise monochrome outfit.  While any color works, I highly believe red is the best suitable hue for any lady with a level of sophistication and class.  Besides the darling color you must absolutely have, there must be some sort of accessory.  I suggest pearls, but if that is too fancy for the occasion of scarf will have to do.

How did I do?  Tell me in the comments!

Fangirling Zooey Deschanel

Chere Readers,
It’s been a while since I’ve done a fangirling post.  Part of that is due to the fact that I haven’t found any new style icons.  The other part is because I partly forgot about them.  Oopsy daisy!

In case you forgot, fangirling is a group of friends, the fan girls, who discuss, ogle, and possibly stalk a favorite celebrity, stylist, designer, model, or anyone else famous for hours on end. While my fangirling has not gone so far as to stalk Zooey Deschanel I am adoring her fashion choices.  So of course I am here to talk/rant to you readers to share my fangirling of Zooey Deschanel.

I quite like retro swimsuits. Probably not to wear.  Just to have in my closet looking pretty.  Everyone has that one piece they’d never actually wear.  It just looks nice from afar.  And I am a fan of cute little dresses and such.  So of course the gold lacy dress is right up my alley.

untitled (3)

I am quite a fan of that black and white dress.  It looks like a well paired skirt and shirt.  But of course Zooey Deschanel only needs one piece to look beautiful.  This was easily ‘winterized’ with a pair of black tights, and perhaps even a cardigan or blazer.

I don’t always like floral.  Sometimes it’s too busy or bright.  Others are boring and bland.  But this is Goldilocks style, just right.  The bold, big flowers against the cream gives it a vintage touch.  And you all know how I’m a vintage soul.

Zooey Deschanel sort of reminds me of Katy Perry.  I mean she looks like it.  And I can see Katy Perry wearing this dress.  Perhaps with some more phenomenal shoes though.  I really like all the draping and the structure of this piece.  It makes it quite unique.  And who doesn’t love giant rainbow accessories?

Nerdy yet flirty.  Such a powerful combination.  You know how much I love nerdy things.  I even convinced my parents to get me permanent geeky glasses.  But I’m not braces nerdy.  I’m Invisalign nerdy.  Anyway, gingham dresses are perfect vintage pieces.  It makes me want a gingham dress really really badly.  Add that to my ongoing fashion wishlist.

This is a shorter post than I’d like.  But I kinda’ wasted some reading time when my dog ingested the white board cleaning spray with alcohol in it.  But that’s a story for another time.

Don’t forget to comment your favorite look and/or style inspiration and icons.

EDIT: It is June 5 or 6, I’m up quite late and really don’t know (proof:  I am talking in a British accent, meaning it’s late and I’m tired) I have just finished watching every single Bones episode shown so far, except for season 9, on Netflix.  And what a coincidence, it stars her sister, Emily Deschanel.  So haha!  Pip pip cheerio! I need to go to sleep. ;)

Nail Art: Glitter. Glitter. And Even More Glitter.

Chere Readers,

I really didn’t feel like painting my fingers again from last week. I was just too lazy to get the nail polish remover and wipe off the excess polish.  But I’m quite good at painting my toes.  They’re really easy and fast, and I enjoyed part of a nice movie while painting my nails before moving on to my homework:( So here goes nothing:

DSCF0621

DSCF0625

I used a glittery dark blue nail polish on all my nails. Except, instead of those polishes you put on top of another color, it was an actual nail polish to cover your whole nail, except it’s still glittery.  But on my big toe I used one of the top coat glitters in an orange tone, over the dark blue, a lot, so it’s almost covered.

My Blog’s Half Birthday! + My Real Birthday Wishlist

Chere Readers,

Tomorrow is the half birthday of my blog!  Yippee!  There may be a giveaway, there may not, so stayed tuned in for the next couple of days for details. It’s so weird I’ve been blogging for 6 months.  It doesn’t feel nearly as long.  I mean, I’ve got 80 followers and 1,141 views in only 6 months.  And 80 comments!  Hopefully that number will continue to grow as my blog grows older.

Also, there’s only 25 days until my actual birthday.  How exciting!  So I made a wish list of some of the things I want.  Hoping to drop some hints for those family members reading.  *wink wink*  Disclaimer:  I do not expect all of these things.  I’m only giving some options!

Wishlist
Let’s start with the fashion side of things:

Outerwear

  • Looking at this I want a lot of outerwear.  My most wanted coat or jacket is probably the pea coat.  There so posh, and chic.  And you know I’m just fancy like that.  Probably in black, it’s timeless.

The Rest of the Outerwear:

  • I have no blazers (the wonders of growing), so I definitely need this wardrobe staple.
  • The moto jacket, it’s just so colorful, and fun, and bright for those rainy spring days.
  • And the varsity jacket; I’ve been seeing these everywhere, and I have no many ideas as to what to pair it with.

Jewelry:

  • I have one ring, but I can’t find it.  So I thought a couple of cute rings to spice up an outfit would be a good thing to ‘invest’ in.
  • I also have just a few bracelets.  There’s a set of bangles, and 2 silver ones, and a gold bracelet.  And these adorable little things caught my eye right away.

Winter wear:

  • Once again I have no scarves.  I cleaned out my closet recently, and not surprisingly a lot of things didn’t fit.  But I can’t grow out of scarves.  It’s just lost somewhere.  So a bright scarf or two would make my day.
  • And I’d love a slouchy hat.  I’m always losing the hats I have.  But if I got something as a cute as this Id make sure I never lost it.  And yes, I know, winter is almost over, it’s never to early to prepare for next year.

Shoes:

  • I only want one shoe right now, and that’s a Doc Marten.  And yes I do realize the cost!  I’d be fine with a pair of knock offs.

Beauty:

  • I do not wear makeup.  The extent of my beauty collection is some perfume samples, lip balms and gloss, and nail polish.  I have quite enough lip balms and gloss.  But I really do like looking at nail art.  So of course, a few nail polishes is necessary.

Technology:

  • The thing I probably want the most in terms of technology is an iPad Mini.  My dad may get me one if I pay for half.  Wish me luck!
  • If the whole iPad thing doesn’t work out, I’d like a quality camera for my blog.  Maybe even a tripod.

My Sisters’ Daddy Daughter Dance

Chere Readers,

My little sisters are going to their school’s daddy daughter dance tonight.  And boy, are my parents going out of their way for this thing.  They have corsages, jewelry, cute little dresses, curly hair.  So with nothing to blog about today, I thought this would be a cute little post, giving you an insight on my life.  Enjoy:

My other sister wearing the white and blue striped shirt took forever to get ready.  So I only got a picture of her corsage.  She had the same things though.  Nail polish, a dress, bracelets, and the same sneakers.

Moschino A/W 2014-15

Chere Readers,

I had no idea what to write today.  I didn’t wear anything special.  I didn’t do anything fun, unless you count the dentist as fun.  Basically I went there and learned I will never get one of my adult teeth, but otherwise I can get braces.  The dental office only does Invisalign, but that’s more expensive than normal braces.  So guess which one I’m most likely getting?  Even though I totally prefer Invisalign.

*All photos came from Vogue.co.uk, I don’t own any of them.*

This is just a quick recap of my favorites from the Moschino line.  I really like the structure of all these pieces.  But truthfully my favorite piece had many reasons behind it being my favorite.  I liked the simplicity of the colors.  But it was also creative to go along with the rest of the food inspired pieces in the line.  And of course I love the structure of the ruffles and the huge skirt.

What’s your favorite piece?

Yet Another OOTD

Chere Readers,

While dressed to kill really means stylish, it means something else in this situation. My mom has a lot of jewelry. I mean I have a lot for my age, but she has more than a lot for her age. And while most of it is costume jewelry, she still has a few of those prized possessions.

I have on a long shirt with VERY thin black and white vertical lines, “spaghetti straps,” and ruffles on the very top. To accessorize I have on the two aforementioned bracelets and a silver one with small green gemstones. It’s still winter, so of course I have on a royal purple cardigan, and green and grey scarf with hints of black.

OOTD: Neon in the Winter?!?!

Chere Readers,

I’m here with yet another post about me and my style.  Apparently they’re very popular among viewers.  I’m hoping to get to 100 followers doing these types of posts so share the love peoples!  Anyways, I wore a dress, which is very uncommon for me, but I dressed it down using bright colors, and casual shoes.  Behold:

So what do you think?  I paired a plain grey tank top dress with an unbuttoned neon cardigan.  To cinch the waist I put on a silver sparkly belt on, and topped it all off with some new silver jewelry I got for Valentines Day.  And of course, my signature combat boots.

The Girl in the Little Black Dress

Natalie

It was really hard to choose a favorite blog!  But this was the first blog I followed, and the author, Natalie, was the first to comment and follow my blog.  So I’m remaining loyal.  The posting is quite infrequent, but when she does post they’re really good.  Her writing style is really bubbly and fun, plus she has a great style.  That’s her header, so click on it to visit her blog!

And 2nd place goes too…

The Life of a Fashion Nerd

I just discovered this blog from a magazine.  She also doesn’t post all that often, but it’s a little more than the afore mentioned blog.  Her posts range from fashion week, to award fashion, to her travels.  She also has a really fun style of writing.  And her OOTD’s are stylish and inspiring.  It’s also a linked header, enjoy!

Announcing 3rd place…

The author of this blog is a loyal follower and commenter. She writes almost everyday, so she’s quite reliable.  And there’s usually OOTD’s along with some fashion news.  I also love her sense of style, which I find myself saying all the time.  Once again you can click her profile picture to visit her blog.
