I’m going to the pool soon.  And before you get jealous, I do not live in a tropical place, nor am I going on vacation for spring break.  I’m just going bathing suit shopping, (I ended up getting a magenta bikini) so I can go to an indoor pool, at a fancy gym facility.

High waisted shorts are in every possible summer OOTD possible, aside from the ones featuring dresses and skirts, of course.  The trend has spread like fire, even to the world of bathing suits.  That’s right, high waisted bathing suits. But this is not a new trend, in fact, these high waisted swimsuits, are quite retro.  I love anything vintage, even if it’s not that old, so of course these swimsuits are just perfect for me.  They’re not the biggest trend, but they’re slowly coming back.  Even if they’re not, and I’m only imagining it, I will always find a way to adore these. It doesn’t matter if I never have a beach to wear them to, or a sun to lounge around in.  I will still ogle at these beauties thanks to a wonderful thing called the internet.

Don’t forget about the super flirty, skirty, quirky swimsuits.  You know, the one pieces with the mini flare at the end? Or the ones that are super tight, yet super cute, like mini dresses?  If you haven’t already bought yourself a pair of either type it’s OK, they’re still plenty of time before those summer months, and you still have time to get ahead of the game.

Oh gosh! Sailor retro swim shorts. Catch me before I faint at the sight of these!

P.S. I might go to a museum and to the movies over spring break, so watch out for possible museum pictures!

High waisted shorts are in every possible summer OOTD possible, aside from the ones featuring dresses and skirts, of course.  But the ones I’ve been especially fascinated with are high waisted sailor shorts, which are quite popular and quite cute, if I do say so myself.  These shorts are not just for the sailors in the world, no, now everyone is wearing these shorts, and I can obviously see why.  I’m on the sailor shorts bandwagon now, and there’s no exiting the vehicle before it comes to a complete stop.  Which would of course require sailor shorts not to be trendy, they always will be.  Even if they’re not, I will always be on the sailor shorts bandwagon. Not even the harshest of winter can stop me, nor the fact that I am not a sailor of any sort.  OK, maybe the whole winter things was a bit exaggerated, but you get my drift. If you haven’t already bought yourself a pair it’s not to late to hop on the sailor shorts bandboat, (see what I did there?) and buy yourself a pair, like I might do.

P.S.  Are you hopping on the sailor shorts bandwagon/boat?  How do you style these pieces if you already have?  Tell me in the comments.

The Marilyn Monroe Guide to Fashion (Part 3)

Chere Readers,

I already told those of you who read my other Marilyn Monroe Guide to Fashion what this was.  But I have not done this in a while, and have gained quite a few followers since then. Basically I take a picture of Marilyn Monroe, and her clothes, and write a tip based on what she’s wearing.  In first person point of view of course.  This series will continue as long as I can think of tips.  Because my series posts were very popular.  But out of the three I’ve done(including this one) I’ve only finished 1!  Whoops!

Tip: (imagine in a classy accent)

A lady must always accessorize when joining her lady or gentleman friends for a night in the town.  Go classy or go home.  Silver is the best color to add, but if you have to, go with gold.  And jewelry is not always the best way to add some flair to an outfit.  Belts, and fur wraps in the color of your choosing are always divine.  Don’t forget your fancy updo.  It’s essential in producing glamour.  Tight curls, waves, and anything vintage Hollywood starlet are just fine.

How did I do?  Have any other fashion icons you want guides to?  Tell me in the comments!

Maximum Infinity! The Easiest DIY Infinity Scarf Known to Mankind

Dear Readers,

Infinity scarves have been a big trend for  while, yet I have still found a way to avoid buying one.  They’re the easiest way to accessorize and still look good without putting much thought into it.  Especially in middle school when only a select few care about their clothes, (me).  But there are others, and besides big bow headbands, and dramatic hair clips, infinity scarves are the next best accessory.  And instead of spending big bucks on these new scarves, you can use the ones you already have.  I got the idea from a magazine for tween girls I glanced at.  And I’m a pretty frugal/meager person, so I love this solution.  All you need is a normal scarf, and your hands.  Tie the ends of the scarf together, make sure it’s at the very end(closest to the edge as possible) for maximum infinity.  The best part is, you can totally change up the look by making undoing the knot, and tying it in a different way.  Excuse my younger sister’s modeling, she’s not very enthusiastic about my blog:( Oh well…  Enjoy!

Stop and Smell the Roses

Chere Readers,

Roses are red, violets are blue, it’s my birthday, woo-hoo!  Actually, today, roses are blue, and I don’t know what color the violets are.  But the flowers are blooming, even if they are backwards because this week it is finally warm.  The low just happens to be 28 degrees Fahrenheit, which used to be somewhat close to our high.  The only downside is that today it’s supposed to rain, which doesn’t seem quite so fair.  But I shouldn’t be complaining, even though warm weather brings flowers, flowers bring pollen, and pollen brings constant allergies.  But do not fear, I can still stop and smell the roses.  I don’t even need to stop when they’re around my neck.

Today I wore my denim shirt in yet another way.  It’s really easy to style, and a must have piece in your closet.  It also goes really well with my outfit, because it’s a bit oversized, so it’s perfect for the tight tee shirt I have on.  Today was all about the scarf, since that was one of my birthday gifts.  It’s a rectangle scarf, but I folded it into a square, and from there a triangle to fit the style of my denim shirt.  Adding black jeans and my new favorite sneakers  were the finishing touches and I was off to smell the roses.

The End of the Rainbow

Chere Readers,

Today is Saint Patrick’s Day!  And while I did not don green, or even do an Irish jig, I still think a holiday themed post is necessary.  So I have to decided to do some jewelry picks that hopefully could become your lucky charm.  But a four-leaf clover would still be better.

A DIY of Sorts: Be a Fashion Designer Today

Chere Reader,

I get a lot of my inspiration from InStyle in terms of post ideas.  So I was flipping through this year’s April issue, yes, they are quite ahead of the game, when I came across a bunch of fashion and beauty websites and apps. From picking makeup colors for you, to redoing the color scheme of your whole room through your phone. these apps sure were interesting. But the most interesting thing to me was the design a dress website.

You answer a series of questions about your appearance, and the website automatically picks a color palette for you.  From there you get complete control.  Have fun filling in the silhouette, fabrics, and colors to design yourself an AMAZING piece.  But I’m not going to send you off into the dark.  I’m going to be designing a dress right here with you.  Your welcome! *BOW BOW*

My Dress

Design A Dress

1.  Select your hair color, eye color, and skin color to begin.

2.  After filling in all that good stuff, pick your silhouette.  I’m going for something simple, summery, and fun.  Hover over each design to see some details about each dress, and then select your silhouette and continue to the design room.

3.  Pick your fabrics, and design details.  The only downside is seeing the cost.  Awww…

4.  Continue to the fitting room.  I don’t know my dress size, all my dresses come in S/M/L.  So I’m just picking the smallest one, due to being in middle school and all…

5.  Now is time for exact measurements.  Once again I really don’t know.

6.  Check out and you’re re done!  Have fun designing.  Comment if you at least try this website, due to the cost, I’m not expecting any purchases.

OOTD: Dressing for the Country, And Fashion in My Blood

Chere Readers,

I have yet another OOTD for you guys today.  I actually picked this out Tuesday night, but I just wore it today.  Before we begin, I have a quick question.  Would you like me to do a jewelry collection post?  Because you saw sneak peeks at my necklaces, and I thought it might be interesting.  Also, I need some ideas for posts (blogger’s block), so that’s why there’s so many OOTD posts.  Anyways…

New OOTD

This is just one of the many ways I wear my denim button down shirt.  Today, I happened to pair it with an orange spring/summer dress.  Did you know, orange is the only word in the English language that doesn’t rhyme with anything?  Don’t trust me?  Try it!  Anyways, I wore an orange dress, which is somewhat like lace, with all the fancy holes that make designs.  The dress was a statement piece, so I just added some fleece lined black tights, and my combat boots, since I don’t have any cowboy boots.  It works just the same.  One last thing, the shirt didn’t look quite right being unbuttoned, so I tied the ends at the waist.  I’m going to assume this was a pretty well done OOTD because people were talking about it during math, and someone came up to me and asked me where I get my clothes from.  But that’s the thing, the clothes alone aren’t all that interesting.  Anyone can wear a dress, right?  It’s how I style the clothes.  That’s why fashion’s in my blood, not my jeans(genes), get it?;)  Hahaha!  Cheesy humor

P.S.  Don’t forget to tell me any post suggestions or requests, and what you think of my jewelry post idea!

P.P.S.  Hello sunshine!  Okay that was random!  Guess what?  Well… Since you can’t figure it out yourself… I’ve got my theme all figured out and complete.  It’s easy to navigate, and read.  So that means there’s social media links that are quite pleasing to the eye!  Bloglovin, Pinterest, and Tumblr, they’re all on the side bar.  Anything else is just below this post.  So click on it and share the love! And why not? You know you liked this post. So go ahead and follow me so you can be inspired whenever I hop onto the internet.

OOTD: Seeing Purple

Chere Readers,

You’ve all heard of seeing green, haven’t you?  But have you heard of seeing purple? Because that’s pretty much all you see in my outfit.  Purple is my favorite color if you couldn’t already tell.  But I’m sure you could.  It’s pretty obvious, I mean come on…

Nan Strikes Back

100_1090

I paired a royal plum dress with a magenta sash with and white skirt of which the embroidery is unexplainable.  I wore the skirt extra high, at the very end of the belt because it looked weird otherwise, and made the dress more like dress more like a skirt and a shirt, hiding my trick.  It’s winter, so of course, these black tights, and the purple sweater were added.  I decided to dress it down with a pair of Converse high tops and call it a day.  Or in this case an Outfit Of The Day.  You see what I did there?!?  BTW, I wore this outfit Monday, but couldn’t get a picture of it until today.  So do not worry, I am not the kind of person who changes their outfit depending on the time.  I am just plain, old, one outfit a day, me.

What’s you favorite color and how do  you wear it?  Tell me in the comments!

What I Wore: Collars and How to Fake Vintage Class

Chere Readers,

I have an OOTD for you.  And yes, I did find a way to fake vintage class, by faking a super fancy collar.  Enjoy!

But wait!  Big news!  I finally figure out a good way to use the timer on my camera.  It involves unscrewing the fancy decorations on the top of my bed posts/backboard, and sitting my camera there.  While not the best system, it certainly is the cheapest, the clearest, and the best way to get a good background…  My jewelry letter trees.  They’re just the letters of my name from Pottery Barn, with hooks attached and butterflies.

Faking

Nan Made Me Change It

100_1069

You see that fancy lace collar?  Well, it’s not actually a part of the sweater.  And that sweater.  It’s not actually a sweater.  The collar is part of a sheer orange shirt for the summer.  And that ‘sweater’ is actually a buttoned up cardigan.  To me, paired together, seems very vintage, almost like a pilgrim.  And it’s just plain creative.  Now who would have thought of that in the 30 minutes they spend rushing to put together an outfit before they go to be?  Moi!  The main focus of the outfit was the collar trick I was so proud of, so I decided to go for a super old style classy.  I added my two fake pearl bracelets, and a super long necklace with an owl pendant.  And guess what’s inside that pendant?  If you guessed pearls, you are correct!  I topped it all of with my knock off type Charlotte Olympia flats, and some classic blue skinny jeans.

There you have it!  The Style Stalker Guide to Faking Vintage Class!
